Frontiering is run by Ian Farmer who is an Innovative Change Agent & Communication Expert.
With an extensive international career in IT, Marketing, and Strategy, Ian is now dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders through education.
He brings a unique blend of practical knowledge and strategic insight to my teaching roles at UNSW and UTS in Sydney, where I lecture on Ethics, Culture & Professional Leadership, Communication, and Design Thinking and Social Impact.
His passion lies in fostering positive change and driving initiatives that have a meaningful impact, and deeply committed to social causes, particularly those that aim to make education accessible to underserved communities around the world. Through my work, I strive to equip students with the skills and mindset needed to navigate the complexities of the modern business landscape, while also instilling a strong ethical foundation.
In addition to my academic roles, I have a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams, driving digital transformation, and developing innovative marketing strategies that resonate globally. I am always eager to connect with like-minded professionals who share my vision for leveraging education and technology to create a better future for all.

Beyond Frontiering
The other things that keep me curious
Frontiering is where I explore change, education, technology and social impact. But those ideas are only part of how I make sense of the world. I also write and record music, carry a camera, walk the Central Coast and work on books. I have brought those quieter passions together at Informography—a place for things made more slowly, through listening, looking and wandering.
