Social network shopping spree

Buy.com has launched a Facebook application Garage Sale, which will allow people to sell products to their network of friends within the Facebook site. The service has a flat $5 transaction fee, and initially prices will be set and not auctioned.

Buy.com plans to open Garage Sale on other Social Networks soon.

Perception: Buying things from your friends isn’t new, and it makes sense that a product like Garage Sale facilitates this within social networks.
Combine that with product recommendations and you have a digital version of the ancient trading city.
